I keep spotting pretty women around New York with animals peeking out from underneath their jackets—sheep, foxes, more foxes, owls, birds.. My favorite is this adorable dog sweater, which would be great to wear on fall days with jeans and moccasins.
Thoughts? Would you wear an animal sweater?
P.S. 5 other fall trends.

I've been eyeing that French Hen sweater for a while. They have a scarf with the same print but I can't find it on their website. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteYES! I'm a knitter so I love sweaters!
ReplyDeleteAlso reminds me of this amazing Tumblr: http://www.thecosbysweaterproject.com/
haha, that's hilarious, kristin!! and, erin, i took a peek at the jcrew website and it looks like the scarf is sold out. here is one on eBay, although it's not cheap! http://compare.ebay.com/like/310485277836?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

We have a Frenchie that looks just like that, I have to have this sweater. So adorable!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would. Just altered a skirt and shirt to make a dress with an owl on the front.

Yes! Totally in love with animal sweaters. I also want an animal tee and night shirt. Wearing too cuteness has to be a positive experience.
ReplyDeletei would definitely wear the hell out of that sweater! adorable.

I don't think I would! Cute for little girls I think but I'm a little dubious about this trend for grown women! :))
ReplyDeleteLove this pup sweater. I actually just posted photos wearing the J.Crew French hen sweater yesterday - it's my new favorite! Love how playful and classic this trend is. :)

I have a fantastic pug sweater from Compoir des Cottoniers!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this Christmas, finally reindeer sweaters are going to be fashionable!!! yay!!!

Absolutely love this trend! I am also really into fox jewelry right now...
ReplyDeleteNothing tooo cutesy but would love a sharp looking one. Like the fox or dog one. I think it adds so quirky style to a boring wardrobe.
ReplyDelete-Michelle {LiveLoudly}
p.s- Minnie Mouse or Mickey Mouse doesn't qualify as an animal sweater!
oh man, i have a frenchie at home and might just need to honor him on the daily by picking this sweater up.
ReplyDeleteTotally. I'm just looking for the right fox sweater. And hoping this trend won't look too dated next fall, because I don't think I'll find something to stretch over this pregnant belly this fall.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kate Harvey -- not for me, but my almost-three-year-old daughter has a great "critter" t-shirt in a neon green. But I'd take the Frenchie sweater over this one from J. Crew, which is...well...not for me: http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/sweaters/crewnecks/PRDOVR~29028/29028.jsp
ReplyDeleteI can't decide if this trend is too childish, but there are some vintage sweaters that are more subtle--and just do a silhouette.
ReplyDeleteLoving this vintage one:

I can get behind this madewell sweater as well:

I like them in theory but i think they're a bit too trendy. I love sweaters and I'm not sure about the longevity of these. I like my sweaters to last and last, that's part of the joy of bringing them out each year for the fall and winter seasons. I have a jcrew cardigan I've had for at least 15 years and I wear it every year. I do like owl one though, that one seems a bit timeless with the retro graphic and the sheep one would work in a smaller scale.
ReplyDeleteI love this trend, it's super cute and fun to wear.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. Reminds me of Margo's horse sweater during the Christmas party scene of Lars & the Real Girl. Wish I could find a picture of it!
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually too into them, but I totally fell in love with this one from Oysho:

Love this! I have a sheep sweater that has been my cozy favorite for awhile now. My husband makes fun of me for wearing it but now I can tell him that I'm right on trend!
ReplyDeleteummm yeah I definitely bought a gray sweater with small black horses printed all over it a few months ago! It is the greatest thing ever! I love it when people do a double take and realize there are horses on my shirt.
ReplyDeletenoticed h&m are doing them too! I can sort of justify that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan to be honest. This whole trend of animals on knitted sweaters reminds me so much of that episode of Portlandia where they 'put a bird on it': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XM3vWJmpfo
ReplyDeleteHell yeah, if I was in 3rd grade!
ReplyDeleteLove this dog sweater!! I've been noticing all the animal sweaters too. For more on lifestyle, check out our blog Gorgeously Wed and Ever After. www.gorgeouslywed.com.
ReplyDeletelove, I have been noticing foxes on everything (Tory Burch, Etc). Which is cute, because it is my middle name, but I love the J.Crew Sweaters!
ReplyDeleteThat's because you want a dog, Joanna! Do it...Do it...Do it....
ReplyDeleteThat's because you want a dog, Joanna! Do it...Do it...Do it....
ReplyDeleteI don't know...I saw that they had these at a few stores this past weekend. Not my style...but then again they fit in the ugly sweater category ;) Check out these sweaters for a good laugh: http://www.tipsyelves.com/sweaters
ReplyDeleteI overnighted this sweater as soon as it came out so I could wear it to my frenchie's birthday party on Sunday! See pics of my frenchie and my frenchie sweater at theroserecord.blogspot.com. Also, it's so comfortable and doesn't ball up at all.
ReplyDeleteNot really. I like classic sweaters better. Maybe on a little one, though.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not!!
ReplyDeleteI keep getting tempted by that french hen sweater, it makes me chuckle everytime I see it.
ReplyDeleteMal @ The Chic Geek
I think this would be cute if I was a little girl or maybe even a teen. But as a grown woman, I think it is too trendy and just becomes an ugly old lady sweater. Like Christmas sweaters were in the 80 s. not for me. Cute for my kid.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I would totally wear an animal sweater! Especially if mine fit as swell as that models, she looks so good!
ReplyDeleteum nope. They are cute for other people. It reminds me of grown ass men wearing shirts with cartoon characters.
ReplyDeletei likey!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely would, I'm the biggest dog fan! I've got a miniature schnauzer and she is just the cutest thing. That frenchie bull dog reminds me of Stella the French Bulldog from Modern Family!
ReplyDeletehow about these? - GORGEOUS on EBAY!!!
ReplyDelete1/2 size too large for me.

hope they are your size.
Not with my heaving bosom but I do think it looks cute on lanky girls with a tomboy vibe!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you! It's all about having a little fun. I actually included the same sweater in my post this morning : lelivingandco.blogspot.ca

I am pro-animal sweaters this season!

I can't tell you how much I LOVE this trend! I found a horse sweater last year in the kid's section of H&M (it's actually meant to be a sweater dress) and have absolutely worn it out. I'm happy to know that I'll likely be able to replace it with an actual adult piece of clothing! You can see it (well most of it) here:
ReplyDeletehttp://miltonsmanor.blogspot.com/2011/12/parisian-birthday.html
My favorite sweater is a hedgehog print one, which, from far away looks like large polka dots and up close, is both hilarious and adorable. I have to keep myself from wearing it too often lest I wear it out!
ReplyDeletei bought this same Frenchie sweater from J.Crew just last week! cool to see it now in your blog, and get inspiration for other fall trends. Thank you. ps and by the way, not sure if The Kooples brand has reached the US yet, here in Europe it's pretty popular. You might like their animal tee's, too: http://www.thekooples.co.uk/sport-women/sport-t-shirt.html
ReplyDeletecheers
Hm, I keep seeing them everywhere, but for some reason I'm convinced they would make me look like a child! I should try one on I guess and take a good friend for an honest opinion:)
ReplyDeleteI would totally wear one! I'm on the hunt for a schnauzer sweater!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS LOOK! CUTE SWEATER!
ReplyDeleteDOING A JEWELRY GIVEAWAY @ WWW.KIMAIRJAI.COM!!!!!
Love the Frenchie sweater! I love the J.CREW French Hen too but I'm holding out for the Frenchie pup!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this fashion trend!! This dog sweater you found is adorable. I would definitely wear it. I have a sweater similar to this style, but instead it just has a giant heart in the middle rather than an animal. It's from J. Crew and it is one of my favorites!! So young, yet fun and chic to wear!
ReplyDeleteYes!! Can't wait to get one!
ReplyDeleteYes, i love animal sweaters too!
ReplyDeleteI am all over the animal sweaters. You know what would be cool? If they allowed you to customize with your own pet. Yes, I really love my dog and yes, I am a dork.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving sweaters like this. I just bought one from J.Crew with a giant heart in the middle.

Yep, wearing the J Crew 'French Hen ' one right now. The Huzz isn't so sure!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so lovely, just great for fall! Love sweaters quite much. I often got my Abercrombie & Fitch sweaters at http://www.abercrombieandfitchparispascher.net/
ReplyDeleteI would totally wear an animal sweater!
ReplyDeletesuch a cute outfit!
